Update #46
12 months ago – Sat, Aug 23, 2025 at 02:27:19 PM

Hello!

I'm late with this update.
First, the numbers:
US/CA: fewer than 230 orders
EU/UK: 86 orders
And 116 orders remain in the rest of the world.

Yes, progress is not as fast as I had hoped. But we already have enough 19“, 10”, and 4-node cases at the moment in distributors' warehouses.
There were financial delays in restarting production (largely due to the high cost of shipping 19" enclosures by air). With limited funding, choices have to be made. But I am negotiating how I can finish the batch. I think I will tell you more in the next update.

There were also problems with the delivery of a batch of Blades to the US, as additional paperwork was required due to a change in the legal entity.
The original commercial invoices included another company. After the transfer of assets, the name and address were changed. Customs authorities do not like this. We encountered a similar problem with a test shipment to the UK.

Well, that's all the news for now. It's difficult to report bad news.
Nevertheless, overall, I can say that I currently have options available.

And, you know, I don't see anything wrong with sharing them:

1. The Orcestrator project has developed into an interesting pitch deck, in my opinion. I view it as a solid software project with clear monetization and attractive free plans. But what's even cooler is that it has unique features that no one else has yet. I plan to pitch it to investors in September. If you happen to be an investor and are interested, I would be happy to share.

2. Pishop.us is ready to become one of Compute Blade's investors, which will definitely save the project. But I haven't accepted their offer yet, because I would really like to combine it with point 1.

3. We could continue to use the money from sales to replenish Kickstarter, but experience has shown that this is slow. And as a manager, I burn out quickly (the last update was a month ago).

In short, in the next two weeks, I will decide on a plan, talk to some more smart people, and get back to you by September 7.

This the way

Hello everyone!

I want to mark a new beginning for the Compute Blade project with this post. Below, I will explain as much as I can about what has happened in the last month and what I plan to do next.

I'll start with the numbers, for many, this is the most important one:

Unfulfilled orders at the moment: 498
US/CA: 274 unfulfilled orders
EU/UK: 116 unfulfilled orders

The rest of the world: 108 unfulfilled orders
To be precise: Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Monaco, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago

There are also about 30 unfulfilled replacements. I can't tell you the exact number because I haven't sorted out all the requests yet.

The plan

pishop.us does a great job and will finish the shipments to US/CA
pi3g.com is helping with the EU/UK shipments

The other countries are more complicated; and at the moment, I don't have personal contact with distributors there. But some of the shipments can be made from the US/EU, and some of them I will send manually from Germany to close the issue.

As for timing, I expect that we will be able to ship up to 400 orders in the next 8 weeks. I will be posting here more often and on Discord.

I won't overload this update with numbers. There are not enough Compute Blades, Fan Units, and enclosures in stock at the moment to fulfill all the orders (still over 1700 Compute Blades in the warehouses, though).
We currently have around 100x 19“ enclosures in our warehouses. And another 800 in China, most of which will be shipped by air to the US and Europe in the near future. Unfortunately, the cheaper option of shipping by sea did not work out.
We are also out of the add-on modules. But at the same time, we have enough parts to produce another batch of 5000 Compute Blades (and accessories for them) at the factory within a few weeks after my payment.

Here's a little backstory

As you may know, after completing the Kickstarter campaign (or rather in the process of completing the campaign), I created Uptime Industries Inc. with my partner.

Our manufacturing and logistics setup was:

The 3PL (third-party logistics) provider was organized as follows:

In early 2024, we at Uptime Industries started the Lemony.ai project (Lemony secures $2M in seed funding round), where we put together a great team, and their focus of attention was shifted to Lemony at the request of investors. Nevertheless, we made good progress on the Orchestrator project, documentation, and various design elements.

Throughout 2024 and the beginning of 2025, we faced many challenges, but as it turns out, the main one is a management one. Problems in transparency, delegating, and trust within the company led to my decision to leave and drop Lemony in favor of working on Compute Blade by myself again. In mid-July 2025, I formally left Uptime Industries Inc. in exchange for everything related to Compute Blade and Uptime (including the name Uptime Industries Inc.) into a new company, Uptime Lab Inc. So Lemony.ai went its own way.

Compute Blade continues. I am coordinating with production and distributors. I’m also in the process of discussing with potential contributors for the continuation of the orchestrator project and its publication.

I can't tell you everything in detail, but I want to assure you that I have always been honest and shared with you all the information I received and was legally allowed to. And at the time, I had no reason not to trust the source of the information I had. And now I want to point out that I have no complaints about the companies we have worked with.
